Read all about it! Read all about it! Visit Swindon’s Greatest Hits.

Both regular Jazzbones followers and fans of everything that Swindon has to offer will know that we recently launched one of our most exciting projects, visitswindon.org.uk - designed to promote the town’s leisure, entertainment and retail offer and attract more visitors from beyond our boundaries.

As the website’s slogan puts it, ‘Visit Swindon. Expect the Unexpected’.

Funded by Swindon Borough Council and in conjunction with Switch On To Swindon, the destination marketing website is already attracting heavy online traffic, but what exactly are people looking at?

Here’s just a taster of Visit Swindon’s ‘Greatest Hits’.

Days Out – the website’s user-friendly mini-guides to themed days out in Swindon are proving a big hit. Take your pick from a day spent shopping, a family day out, a day’s leisure, heritage and green days, an evening out on the town or a day spent enjoying all the arts and culture on offer in Swindon.

My Weekend in Swindon – this is the place for insider tips on what to do and where to go in Swindon, as recommended by notable local residents like Mark Powell (Artistic Director, Prime Theatre), Sunni Nandhra (aka DJ Ace of Clubz, resident spinner at Tree nightclub) and Sue Gidney (Lettings Manager, Richard James Estate Agents). And if you’d like to share your insider knowledge on the perfect weekend in Swindon, we’d love to hear from you.

Top ten breakdowns – see the lists that matter on pubs in Swindon with great gardens, exciting things to do this summer, top places to play tennis, reasons why Swindon is an amazing location for shopping, etc.

News - the Visit Swindon website is a one-stop destination for all the latest news aimed at attracting visitors to the town – read about Swindon and Wiltshire Pride, The Weighbridge Brewhouse’s relaunch, the Wilts & Berks canal and nature reserve, Baila’s cocktail masterclasses, the Railway Village, Coate Water Country Park, racing at Barbury Castle, Lydiard Park, The Crossing, etc.

Crucially, the Visit Swindon website is a resource for every business in Swindon that is keen to attract visitors from out of town, so if you’ve got a bar, restaurant, hotel, leisure venue, sports event, heritage happening, arts festival or children’s event you would like to publicize, don’t hesitate to submit your own article for the News section of the website.

Swindon is a town that punches above its weight in just about every category imaginable. Visit Swindon is designed to advertise that fact to the world and attract more and more visitors to sample its delights.
