‘Visit Swindon’ website destined to attract visitors of all kinds to Jazzbones’ hometown

Swindon really is one of the South West’s best kept secrets.

Over the last few years, Jazzbones have worked on dozens of campaigns promoting our hometown of Swindon, some aimed at local residents and businesses, others aimed at attracting outside investment. Our latest commission from Swindon Borough Council and Switch Onto Swindon is a destination tourism website aimed at attracting outside visitors to our buzzing town. We know that Swindon is much, much more than The Magic Roundabout, the Outlet Village and Billie Piper, now it’s time to shout it out to the world!

Swindon really is one of the South West’s best kept secrets, a thriving and diverse modern town that is full of hidden gems. It offers a superb range of entertainment, leisure and accommodation for visitors of all kinds, with something for every budget - from five star breaks to budget days out. It is an easy to reach destination for people visiting the South West or holidaying in the West Country - some 30 miles from Bath and Oxford, and just 16 miles from Cirencester, the capital of the Cotswolds. Using the Jazzbones-created tagline ‘Expect the unexpected’, the Visit Swindon website acts as an online tourism guide, outlining just why Swindon is a must-visit destination – for families with young children, nightclubbers, sports fans, outdoor lovers and culture vultures alike.

Visit Swindon Website

The Visit Swindon website is divided into six distinct areas aimed at six distinct target audiences: An Evening in Swindon, Arts and Culture in Swindon, A Green Day Out in Swindon, A Heritage Day Out in Swindon, Leisure and Activities in Swindon, and A Family Day Out in Swindon. Each section lists a variety of the towns best attractions as well as focusing on other exciting local areas.

The website uses bright and bold gradients of colour to match existing Switch Onto Swindon branding whilst keeping its own unique identity. To make it aspirational and attractive we felt this website should be very image led, so we decided to use large splash images that grab the attention of the audience and clearly show each activity. Our copywriters also delivered stimulating content focusing on the latest goings-on in Swindon, plus interviews with prominent locals about what to see and where to go. The final result is an eye-catching website that is destined to get visitors flocking to Swindon, a South Western gem just waiting to be discovered.
