Travel brochure design for UK holiday company.

A decade on the canals! Jazzbones celebrates enduring partnership with much loved narrowboat company.

Ten wonderful years on the beautiful canals of England and Wales.

Bristol-based Anglo Welsh Waterway Holidays is one of the largest canal boat holiday companies in the UK, offering a choice of more than 160 boats and a myriad of circuits from ten bases the length and breadth of England and Wales. They are also one of Jazzbones Creative’s most enduring partners as we recently celebrated a ten-year creative collaboration.

At the heart of Anglo Welsh’s marketing and sales is the Jazzbones-produced annual holiday brochure. Boasting fifty-plus glossy pages, premium design and original location photograph by Jazzbones’ ace snappers, it not only makes an attractive coffee table staple for narrowboat lovers but also generates a significant volume of Anglo Welsh’s annual sales.

Other regular briefs over the last ten years include branding, signage, direct mail and trade ads. Not that all Anglo Welsh’s marketing is ‘old school’ analogue; we have also worked extensively on digital branding, website content, email campaigns and social media.

Among many successes, when we launched their new digital campaign at the beginning of 2017, Anglo Welsh saw an uplift of 14.5% in sales.

Another ongoing contribution to Anglo Welsh’s communications are the regular website news features written by our in-house copywriting team, focusing on everything from new additions to the narrowboat fleet, events guides and evocative pieces on Anglo Welsh locations and circuits. The latter cover everything from the dreaming spires of Oxford, Shakespeare’s Stratford and the World Heritage Pontcysyllte Aqueduct in North Wales, better known as ‘the stream in the sky’.

The managing director of Anglo Welsh had these kind words to say about our successful ten-year partnership: “The attraction of the narrowboat world is the ability to escape our fast-paced lives and take time out to relax. Jazzbones’ task was to convey this in our literature and digital communications, and originally they had a very short period of time to get to know our marketplace. I feel that (creative director) Nathan’s ability to listen to our requirements is a rare commodity in the design world and has enabled us to work very much as a partnership. We’re looking forward to working with Nathan and the Jazzbones team on future projects.”
